Fedora 12 Beta on Thinkpad T500

I've been looking for a 'full' laptop to run Fedora on. I basically ended up with two different choices: Lenovo Thinkpad or HP Probook.

The competition was a bit fierce (in my mind at least), but I ended up going with the Thinkpad because of two particular reasons: I read quite a few good reviews on the T500 running Fedora, and because of the screen resolution offered on them, 1680x1050.

The laptop arrived yesterday, I immediately removed the 'Windows Vista' off the body of the machine, and booted and installed Fedora 12 beta on it. It's working great! I have had absolutely no problem with any piece of hardware interacting with Fedora 12. I couldn't be happier with it.

Here are my specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 Ghz T9600
Intel Graphic Media Acc. X4500
2x2 Gb of RAM 1067Mhz
15.4" WSVGA+ TFT (1680x1050 res)
160 Gb HDD 7200 RPM
Integrated Camera
8X DVD Recorder
Intel Wifi Link 5100
9 Cell Li Battery
Bluetooth

[Updated] Flash & Skype on Fedora 12 beta x86_64

Grab binary RPM (or YUM repo) for Flash at: http://www.adobe.com
Grab binary RPM for Skype at: http://www.skype.com

The binaries above will be 32-bit version, so you will need some .i686 rpms to meet some dependencies on Fedora. The following takes care of them:

yum install nspluginwrapper.{i686,x86_64} pulseaudio-libs.i686 alsa-plugins-pulseaudio.i686 libcurl.i686 libXScrnSaver.i686 libXv.i686 qt-4.i686 qt-x11.i686

[Update]

There's a 64-bit flash out there that makes nspluginwrapper unnecessary. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working correctly on Fedora 12 beta yet. Steps:

[Update 2]

In Fedora 12 (gold), the 64-bit works most of the time now (at least for me).

Open Source Photography w/ Hugin

My second attempt on creating a panorama photo. No tripod, and using Open Source application hugin to stitch up the photos on Fedora Linux.
